Beth Trez (Bio): "Learn How to Improvise Jazz"

Did you know that April is Jazz Appreciation Month? Celebrate this musical art form that was born and raised in America and part of this nation’s great heritage by learning more about the key component of jazz: improvisation. Improvisation is the art of creating music on the spot, using specific guidelines. This workshop is for students ages 10 and older who already play an instrument and want to learn more about jazz improvisation. Please bring your instruments.
Beth Trez is a professional jazz pianist, music educator, and founder of the TrezMusicEdcuationCenter. Beth has performed in big bands, jazz combos, solo, and with various other groupings. She taught high school music classes in Queens, NY, and elementary school music in Elizabethtown, PA. While in Elizabethtown, Beth developed a jazz club for the students who performed for Eddie Gomez (Bassist) and Mark Kramer (pianist) at an Elizabethtown College Workshop.
