Beth Trez was trained as a classical pianist from the age of 5. She attended Shenandoah University in Virginia to study classical piano and commercial music. At Shenandoah she was introduced to jazz and graduated in 1999 with bachelor degrees in Jazz Studies and Commercial Music. Upon graduation, Beth moved to New York City to work in Electric Lady Studios, Jimi Hendrix's recording studio. She then attended New York University, achieving a master's degree in Music Education. Beth taught high school music classes at William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, NY. She also taught elementary school music classes to grades 1-5 in Elizabethtown, PA. While in this position, she directed 5th Grade Chorus and started a jazz club for fourth and fifth grade string and band instrumental players. The jazz club performed at a clinic at Elizabethtown College for Eddie Gomez (String Bass) and Mark Kramer (Piano), two famous jazz players. Beth's piano playing has brought her experience in church music, instrumental and vocal accompanying, jazz bands and performance dates in the Washington D.C. and New York City areas. Upon relocating to Pennsylvania from New York City, Beth began teaching private piano lessons. Beth is also currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Music Education from Shenandoah University.
